Welcome to our meditation series.
The theme for this month is Letting Go and Release.
The meditation for Day 1: Shedding Like Autumn Leaves.
Before we begin find a comfortable place to sit or lie down.
Please ensure that you won’t be disturbed for the duration of this meditation.
When you are ready, close your eyes.
Take a deep breath in, filling your lungs fully, and then exhale slowly, releasing any tension.
Relax and feel the weight of your body, letting go, pressing down, grounding you to Earth.Picture yourself standing in a serene forest in autumn.
The trees around you are dressed in vibrant shades of orange, red and gold.
The sky above is crisp, clear blue.
As you look around, you notice how occasionally, a leaf seems to detach itself from its branch.
It floats gracefully downward, carried gently by the breeze, before finally resting on the ground.
Each leaf that drops seems to let go effortlessly, making space for new growth in the coming seasons.
Begin to relate the falling leaves to aspects of your own life.What have you been holding onto that you need to let go of?
It might be a past event, a grudge, self-doubt or maybe some other burdens.
Imagine that each leaf represents one of these burdens.
As you acknowledge each one, visualise it as a leaf, disconnecting and drifting away from you, carried safely to the ground by the gentle breeze.
With each leaf that drifts away, feel a sense of lightness and of relief.
Just as the trees shed their leaves effortlessly, recognise that you too can let go of things that no longer serve you.As you shed each “leaf” and let go of each burden, silently express gratitude for the lessons or growth associated with the experience.
By releasing it, you’re making space for new experiences and opportunities to come into your life.
Slowly bring your focus back to your breathing.
Deepen your breaths, feeling rejuvenated, lighter and more present.
When you’re ready, gently open your eyes, carrying the feelings of release and renewal with you.Whenever you feel weighted down in the future, remember this meditation and the image of the autumn leaves, reminding you of the natural and continuous cycle of letting go.
